What Is Hush Your Mind + Why You Should Care

What Is Hush Your Mind And Why You Should Care | Do you struggle with perfectionism, self-doubt or people-pleasing? I created Hush Your Mind for you. Discover my philosophy, who I am and what to expect.

I created Hush Your Mind to help women let go of perfectionism, self-doubt and people-pleasing.

You want to be happy, peaceful and free… I’m here to show you that you’re already happy, peaceful and free.

It’s just underneath years of emotional baggage.

Many of us let our past hurts dictate the present, but that keeps us stuck in negative thoughts.

What’s more, true peace and happiness come from within, not outside circumstances. Even in the most dire situations, you always have the power to choose how you see each moment.

Though we live in a society of “not good enough”, I believe we can change the world by finding love and peace within. When you’re at peace with yourself, you elevate everyone in your presence.

“We can never obtain peace in the outer world until we make peace with ourselves.” ―14th Dalai Lama

It’s our responsibility to work towards making peace with ourselves.

Despite the chaos in the world, I refuse to believe we’re doomed. We can choose love over fear in every moment.

Who is Hush Your Mind for?

For women who:

  • never feel good enough
  • beat themselves up
  • struggle with perfectionism and people-pleasing
  • want to feel peaceful, happy, fulfilled and free

Hush Your Mind is for you.

Early on, you’ve built your life on shaky foundations. Foundations made of other people’s expectations.

Somehow, their plans became yours. You’re doing your best, constructing your life with what you’ve got.

But it’s not fulfilling.

Instead, we’re going to take it down. Heal the wounds. And reconstruct.

Here’s to you, courageous one!

Who am I?

Hi, I’m Annie Moussu!

My parents immigrated from Vietnam to southern California in the 80s. As a little girl, I was extremely sensitive and lonely. I struggled with cultural and language barriers and overprotective parents who criticized me for every. little. thing. (My parents had good intentions, but it sure didn’t feel like it at the time.)

To avoid rejection, I stuffed down my emotions and chased perfection. Bent over backwards to please others. Never spoke up.

With zero self-confidence, I practically lost my identity.

Nonetheless, I managed to graduate from a top-notch college. Then I escaped to teach English in France and snatched a French husband. Oh la la!

But my husband and I argued everyday, my job sucked and living abroad wasn’t easy. As Ernest Hemingway wrote, You can’t get away from yourself by moving from one place to another.

Reality crashed down on me. Repressed emotions and problems boiled up. I criticized everything and everyone—especially, myself (my parents passed me the torch 😉).

Past hurts, feelings of worthlessness and fear ruled my life.

I devoured self-help books. Meditated. Forgave. I questioned my thoughts and applied the knowledge. Slowly but surely, I nourished a positive mindset.

Once I accepted the past, life beamed at me. A peaceful mind = a peaceful life. Sure, there are hard times. But I’m capable of making the best out of them.

The best part?

I know who I am. (Though I’m constantly evolving.)

No matter what, I can look up to my North Star.

That’s power. I live the life I desire.

Peace. I’m proud to be who I am.

Happiness. No one can take it away.

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma—which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most importantly, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.” —Steve Jobs
